The following is an email I received regarding the Booster Club of the IceDogs. If any of you reading this could help out, please email Brenda!
Thank you all very
much for answering the call for Booster Club Volunteers. For those of
you that have been a member of a “Booster Club” we welcome your ideas
and experience. For those of you that have not been members of this
type of club and are wondering what it is and what it does, I will try
and give you a brief description of my vision to start year one for our
Niagara Ice Dogs.
The Booster Club is a
group of die hard fans that believe in the team and enjoy attending the
games, watching the games, sharing their passion and excitement for the
game and help raise the hype and noise level throughout the games.
Most if not all of the
OHL teams have a Booster Club and they run things such as 50/50 draws,
sell picture buttons with the player’s names and numbers on them, create
a year book to give to the guys at the end of the year, organize a “mini
golf night”, bowling, pizza dinner night, etc. etc. for players and
“booster club members”.
I would like to
organize a meeting of all the people that would like to take part in
organizing a Booster Club for our “inaugural” year. I was thinking we
could try and meet on Wed. Aug 8th at around 7pm, location to
be determined.
Please email ASAP to
advise if you are interested in attending a meeting to be apart of the
“organizing committee” want to just be a member when the club is
established etc.
Again, thanks for your
interest in our team. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Cheers,
Brenda O'Reilly-Padley
